I’ve always been a gal that loved purses, jewelry, boots, scarves, shoes, belts. A girl can gain 10 or 15 pounds and not have to worry if her purse will still fit. In fact, I am proud to say that I still fit into my high school earrings! So, while receiving and dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis has been, in a word, devastating, I have found another small spot on the bright side: ACCESSORIES. As I wait to start treatment, I’m doing some retail and online shopping therapy…stocking up on stocking caps, buying up beanies, hunting for hats and headwraps. I treated myself to a new duffle to shuffle off to treatment with, and filled it with a new softie blanket and pillow. I figured out that I’ll have a whole year a savings on haircuts, hair coloring, blow-outs, mani-pedicures, waxing, shampoos and conditioners so I’m getting my accessories before the fact. And then there’s the ultimate accessory…the wig. But that’s a whole other story.
