After mustering a full day of energy and self care, I have to say that there’s nothing as nice as having a friend drop of dinner! Not that I’m keeping track or anything, but my oldest gal pal Annie B. is in the lead with turkey soup, two pot pies and a quiche. Last night’s delivery of KFC with all the fixings courtesy of ‘sister-in-law” Martha was a treat, and my favorite mermaid Denise has brought over assorted soups, beans and rice, and fried chicken. Abby graced us with meatloaf and mashed. Tonight, my step mom is dropping off a rotisserie chicken, roasted potatoes, veggies and a pie. Thanks to the steroids, I’m up for the task. And I’m totally humbled and grateful for this level of generosity. You’ll just have to remind me when I go back to my Isagenix two shakes and a 400 calorie dinner that this was all a part of the healing process. As they say in Italian, “Per oggie, andiamo mangiare come siamo molto pazzi*”
*For today, let’s eat like we’re crazy.
