Happy Sunday. It was nice to have a little sunshine today and I managed to get Boo, my border collie, down to the dog park for a some fresh air and playtime. Now that it’s four days past my fifth chemo, things start to go to shit. Today I feels like I have a whole full house of C cards. Seems that I’ve developed a CHEMO COUGH that kept me up and hacking most of the past two nights, so you can only imagine how tired and CRANKY I am. My hands have a level of neuropathy (tingling and numbness) making it difficult to do things like zip or button. The upside is that I’m too water retentive to fit into anything but slippers and sweatpants. No surprisingly, I got back a blood test that showed that my liver enzymes are slightly elevated — which is to be expected when you have been ingesting poison for four months. I did my research, however, and found a natural remedy that I’m going to try. Edgar Cayce, the father of holistic medicine back in the 1800’s came up with a treatment where you soak a rag in castor oil and apply it with heat over your liver to help draw out toxins. Sounds like something my Grandma Shirley would have recommended! I’ll try it. Shirley was right about a lot of things.
Cayce said, “For all healing, mental or material, is attuning each atom of the body, each reflex of the brain forces, to the awareness of the divine that lies within each atom, each cell of the body.”
